Until you have lost a very dear pet,

it's hard to feel the grief one begets.

But I know the sadness you are going through

for I have worn those very same shoes.

You look around and you see a big hole;

your home empty, your heart not whole.

But day by day may the fading tears

bring smiling memories year after year.
