Hunde-Muttertag

Sie geht ständig mit mir Gassi,

striegelt liebevoll mein Fell,

tadelt mich auch hin und wieder,

wenn ich mal zu Unrecht bell.

 

Sie spielt mit mir „Stöckchen holen“,

gibt fortwährend auf mich Acht.

Ich steh unter ihrem Schutze,

früh am Morgen, in der Nacht.

 

Sie versteht mich ohne Worte,

wenn ich mit den Augen frag.

„Vielen Dank, dass ich dich habe –

einen schönen Muttertag!“

God saw you (she/he) were getting tired

God saw you were getting tired when a cure was not to be.

He closed his arms around you and whispered “Come to me”.

In tears we saw you sinking, we watched you fade away.

Our hearts were almost broken, you fought so hard to stay.

But when we saw you sleeping so peacefully, free from pain,

we should not wish you back to suffer that again.

So treasure him, Lord, in your garden of rest.

For here on earth, she/he was the best.

So He put His arms around her/him and whispered, “come with me”.

With tearful eyes I/we watched her/him suffer and slowly fade away,

Although I/we loved her/him dearly, I/we could not make her/him stay.

A golden heart stopped beating, playful paws were put to rest.

God broke my heart/our hearts to prove to me/us, He only takes the best.

I am gone, not by your side, or so I’ve heard you say …
