This German Shepherd is driving me nuts.
Always in the way, and up my butt!
Even when I only move two feet away, he has to be
beside me, he just won't stay!
Then he stands sideways in the hallway, I can't get
by!
Probably easier to go under, his back is so high.
Then the funniest thing I've ever seen him do, happens
when he's nodding off, trying to take a snooze.
His feet start twitching when he is asleep.
Everybody watch him, don't make a peep.
Then his foot bumps into the hallway door, makes him
jump, straight up in the floor!
Who goes there? Watchdog on call!! The only intruder
is HIM! Bumping the doorway in the hall!
He barks for an hour, he's doing his job. No bad guys
are coming into this place to rob!
He doesn't realize that HE made the noise. He just
wants to find those imaginary burglar boys.
Then I thought about it and the way he is. What if
someone really did sneak in?
That bark would alert me, bless their poor soul.
I feel sorry for them if they get near his food bowl!
So, the next time I complain of him being in the way.
I'll try to remember he might save my life one day!
