Wichtige Informationen / Important information:

This blog is not only a collection for all of you who, like me, love poems, texts and simply everything about dogs, it is also intended to give recognition to all authors and artists who with their work give us great pleasure, sometimes solace and who also want to open our eyes to the abuse and neglect of animals.

Until we see each other again

I sure haven't felt well lately,
This body of mine is simply worn out,
I try not to let my owner know,
At nights while he sleeps I pout,
15 years is a longtime
For a dog to live or so they say,
I have had the best life,
I love my owner in every way,
We always have the best of times
But lately I have really slowed down,
I heard the vet say something about Cancer,
And for it no cure has been found,
My owner doesn't 8 himself today,
There are many tears streaming down his face
Now he said I can have ANYTHING to eat,
I even get to pick the place!
I will leave that up to you,
I trust your choices in every way,
Oh my gosh that huge T bone steak is mine?
You always know how to make my day,
While I am eating my owner is crying
He says buddy today is your lucky day,
You're never gonna be in pain again!
I sure love this guy in every way!
That's the greatest news ever,
I wasn't sure how much more I could take,
I have been so sick lately,
Not even sure I can finish this steak,
Then he tells me I am going on a journey
To a place where there is no pain,
Then he tells me it will only be a short while
Until we see each other again
He reads me a story called Windows in Heaven,
And tells me my house will be in plain view,
And anytime we are missing each other
Look down, it's all I have to do!
I dont like the thought of being separated,
We have been together since my birth,
There has never been a better friend or owner,
In the history of God's green earth,
But I put my total trust in him
That for me this is the best move
Funny, we are now in front of my vets office,
Now the Vet is getting teary eyed too
Not a normal vet visit today
They give me lunchmeat and in it is a pill
I need to lay down somewhere
I am really starting to feel ill
They lay me down on a table
As my owner says I love you again
He comforts me by telling me
In a few moments I will no longer be in pain
He kisses me on my forehead
Nods to the doctor, and says it's time,
To give the hardest gift he will ever give
That's why I love this owner of mine
The needle goes in I can hardly feel it
It doesnt even go in that deep,
Gosh I feel so good, no more pain
I think I will slowly drift off to sleep,
Goodnight my loving faithful owner,
My battle over cancer you helped me to win
I will be watching over you from heaven
Until we see each other again!
