Wichtige Informationen / Important information:

This blog is not only a collection for all of you who, like me, love poems, texts and simply everything about dogs, it is also intended to give recognition to all authors and artists who with their work give us great pleasure, sometimes solace and who also want to open our eyes to the abuse and neglect of animals.

In every sunrise, every mountain

In every sunrise, every mountain
Every rainbow, every star
I'm loving you, I know you're there.
Are you sitting here beside me
Or were you that bird that flew.
I feel the wind blow in my ear,
And I'm wondering if it's you.
Are you reading over my shoulder?
Are you holding my hand right now?
I want to tell you I love you
But I'm not sure if I know just how.
I can feel you wiping my teardrops
And asking me please not to cry.
I'm missing you and loving you so much,
And I'm wondering why you had to die

For every bright star

For every bright star
In the heavens above
There’s an angel looking down on us
And sending us there love

When you look up to the skies
Someone is looking down
Wanting you to know
That they are still around

Although you cannot see them
They are standing by your side
Knowing all the pain you feel
And the tears you’ve cried

So when you look up to the sky
Up to the heavens above
Remember there watching over you
And thinking of you with love.

As long as forever

As long as forever I will stay by your side
I'll be your companion Your friend and your guide

As long as I live And as long as you care
I'll do anything for you I'll go anywhere

I'll bring you the sunshine I'll comfort your fears
I'll gather up rainbows To chase all your fears

As long as forever My heart will be true
For as long as I live I'll always love you

Sent with love

I believe in Angels
I wish it wasnt true,
We didnt want an Angel
We only wanted you,

Youve left behind our broken hearts.
Our thoughts and photos too.
We didnt want a memory
We only wanted you.

Remembering our Angel in Heaven at Christmas time

The sadness never goes away
The silent tears still flow
Your thought of and so sadly missed
More than you'll ever know

But now you're with the Angels
Safe and sound in Heaven above
We hold on to the memories
And treasure them with love

Yet special times like Christmas
Often make us wonder why
God took you from the world
It was too soon to say goodbye

But memories are precious
They will last a lifetime through
We know that God had chosen you
To be His Angel too ...

Tierische Weihnacht

Hoch am Himmel,
reitet das Christkind auf einem Schimmel.
Bringt mir süßem Fratz,
einen riesigen Schatz.

Hundekuchen, Leckerlis alles was das Herz begehrt,

Whispers of your voice

While you could not speak the words,
I could hear the whispers of your voice.
Telling me it was time to go,
to celebrate your life and rejoice.

You decided it was time to go and
find your resting ground.
You lay down your tired head and
went without a sound.

In my heart I know you loved me,
as much as I loved you.
I pray you've found the peace,
that's helped to see me through.

I thank you for all the joy in my life and
the smiles you've brought to me.
May God guide you on your journey and
may your spirit always run free.

Forget me not

Forget me not, for we must say goodbye.
Keep me in your heart, and I will never die.
The long road ahead may seem very tough,
But sure, happy memories are more than enough.
Spread my ashes through soul and mind.
For my spirit will live on in hearts of those I find.
Do not stand beside me and fully weep.
Even though the loss may feel very deep.
Take comfort in knowing that I loved you,
A love we shared, a love that grew.
So do not forget me, our love has no end.
I’m glad we met, my one true friend.

... es weihnachtet schon

Ich geh' mit Herrchen durch die Strassen,
es weihnachtet schon überall.
Lichter glänzen auch in unserem Garten,
sicherlich kein Einzelfall.
In den Fenstern leuchten Sterne,
Weihnachtsengel schau'n uns an,
Kerzenschimmer hat Frauchen auch sehr gerne,
denn das erfreut den Weihnachtsmann.

Für mich zählt Weihnachten nur das eine,
ob Fleischwurst auch an Bäumen wachsen kann.
Der Weihnachtsbaum ist dann der MEINE,
da lass' ich keinen and'ren ran!

You're in my thoughts again today

You're in my thoughts again today
As you so often are
And I can't help but wish sometimes
That you were not quite so far
But life has it's place for us both
And though we are far apart
You're never really further than
Right here inside my heart

I'll just wait in Heaven

I'll just wait in Heaven
Til we meet again
I know you miss me
Just remember I am free
From pain and sorrow
God's love fills each tomorrow
My love's in your heart
We'll never be apart
Cherish the love we share
Remember how much I care
Someday we'll be together
Because love lives forever
So I'll just wait in heaven
Til we meet again

Good-bye

I know my time has ended
Its time for me to leave
I want you all to know
You mean so much to me

Why I had to go
Was a mystery to me
All I heard was God
Saying “Please come home to me”

So I left my friends and family
I didn’t say goodbye
All I got to see
Were the tears in their eyes

But as I saw them crying
I asked them not to grieve
Knowing how much we care
That our love will never cease

You can look up at the sky
And look over to the sea
When you feel that gentle breeze
You always think of me

When your time comes
To join me up above
We will be reunited
And still, we’ll have our love

'Twas the night before Christmas (4) (The Day After Christmas?) (or: Christmas puppy) (or: Twas the night before Christmas ... rescue version)

'Twas the night before Christmas
I've found many canine versions of this Holiday classic – here one of the variants.

*****

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in the beds,
With no thought of the dog filling their heads.
And mama with her ‘kerchief and I in my cap,
Knew he was cold, but didn't care about that.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Figuring the dog was free of his chain and into the trash.

'Twas the night before Christmas (3)

It was about time for Christmas, and all through the house
A creature was stirring, but it wasn't a mouse.
I knew right away it was my wife's little pup,
She thought we were sleeping, and so she was up.

The dog was a gift it was coercion, really,
A woman can pout, 'til a man gets downright silly.
And now the wife was snoozing she was really sacked out
She wouldn't have awoke from less than a shout.

Yes, her in her nightgown, I in my BVDs,
We had finally settled down to catch some Zs.
When off in the kitchen there arose such a clatter,
I rolled from the bed to see what was the matter.
