Der Europäische Gerichtshof (EuGH) hat 2014 entschieden, dass im Regelfall keine Urheberrechte verletzt werden, wenn Website-Betreiber sogenannte framende Links setzen. Dies geschieht zum Beispiel, wenn YouTube-Videos auf einer Internetseite eingebunden werden. 

In 2014 the European Court of Justice (ECJ) decided that normally no copyrights are violated if website operators use so-called framed links. This happens for example when YouTube videos on a website are included.

Of dogs and angels

During my years in animal welfare work - I served as the president of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals - I have heard wonderful stories about the power of the human-animal bond. One of my favorites is about a girl and her very special dog.

 

When the girl was born, her parents were stationed with the U.S. Army overseas. The tiny baby spiked a fever of 106 degrees and when they couldn't help her at the military base, the baby and her family were flown home to the United States where she could receive the proper medical care.

The alarming fever kept recurring, but the baby survived.

 

When the episode was over, the child was left with thirteen different seizure causes, including epilepsy. She had what was called multiple seizure syndrome and had several seizures every day. Sometimes she stopped breathing.

 

As a result, the little girl could never be left alone. She grew to be a teenager and if her mother had to go out, her father or brothers had to accompany her everywhere, including to the bathroom, which was awkward for everyone involved. But the risk of leaving her alone was too great and so, for lack of a better solution, things went on in this way for years.

When I die

When I die, please don’t say „I’ll never have another dog“.

Search for the ones who are abandoned and forgotten.

Give them a second chance and let them take my place.

Honor my life by saving another.

Poetic spirit

The four-legged friend of a devoted master

Shall keep on giving forever after.

His unflinching love and appreciation

The master hugs to his heart with much admiration.

And when his friend has gone up above,

What the master has is memories of love.

In his heart he holds a special place,

For his pet who brings a smile to his face.

And he finds himself composing rhyme,

After all, it gets him through grieving times.

But more than that, it’s a gift he was given

The day his friend departed for Heaven.

There’s a nudging urge to share this gift

With other who need a spiritual lift.

So he sends his “masterpiece” via the net,

To others that grieve for a very dear pet.

Perhaps they share the very same feelings,

And hopes to help them through the healing.

And so it goes, the gift that keeps giving,

Is my cherished pet who is no longer living.

But, his spirit lives on in the heart of me,

You see, it is he who brings you this poetry!

Fidelity

A barking sound the Shepherd hears,

A cry as of a dog or fox;

He halts - and searches with his eyes

Among the scattered rocks:

And now at distance can discern

A stirring in a brake of fern;

And instantly a dog is seen,

Glancing through that covert green.

 

The Dog is not of mountain breed;

Its motions, too, are wild and shy;

With something, as the Shepherd thinks,

Unusual in its cry:

Nor is there any one in sight

All round, in hollow or on height;

Nor shout, nor whistle strikes his ear;

What is the creature doing here?

Let sleeping dogs lie

A man looked down at his dog on the floor

and he wondered why

the dog was content to sleep on the floor

or wherever he would lie?

So the man got down on the floor to sleep

and found he was wide awake.

His back was sore and the rest of him

turned into one big ache.

The dog awoke and looked at the man,

then slept in the man's chair.

The man looked up at the dog and knew

that dog could sleep anywhere.

Silent language

We look into a dogs eyes

and its their soul we see.

They talk to us without a sound

for from sin their souls are free. 

We see their love and trust in us

as they watch our every move.

We see the fear of punishment

when anger is our mood. 

Their silent language we all know,

no doubt is in our minds.

The body language says a lot

but to their eyes we can’t be blind. 

They say times heals all sorrow

and helps us to forget,

but time has only proven,

how much I miss you yet.

Yes, I am a Show Dog!

They asked if I’m a show dog,

I heard my Mom say "No".

She said that I was better,

And didn’t need to go.

 

I show my family that I love them,

With hugs and kisses true,

With extra special tenderness,

When one is sick or blue.

 

I show my family that I care,

Almost every day,

When strangers pass by our house,

I shoo them all away.

Perhaps you are that star in the sky

Perhaps you are that star in the sky,

letting me know you are near,

guiding me through this darkened night,

chasing away my lonely fear.

 

Your love was a light inside my heart,

that made me happy and free,

my wish tonight as with every night,

is that you were still here with me."
