Wichtige Informationen / Important information:

This blog is not only a collection for all of you who, like me, love poems, texts and simply everything about dogs, it is also intended to give recognition to all authors and artists who with their work give us great pleasure, sometimes solace and who also want to open our eyes to the abuse and neglect of animals.

You made me smile

You made me smile when I didn’t feel like smiling;
You made me laugh when I didn’t feel like laughing;
You kept me company when I felt so completely alone.
You loved me, even when I was at my worst;
I will always, always, love you.

My best friend

Always happy to see me, showers me with kisses.
That’s how I know I’m the one he misses.
When I’ve had a bad day, he doesn’t ask why.
He just cuddles close, in case I need a good cry.
We love goofing around and having fun at paly.
We make time for that every single day.
So it’s not hard to see, maybe you’ve guessed.
My dog is not just my friend. He is the best!

When God created Bullys

When God created the animals, two by two,
He had parts left over and thought “What can I do?”
The ears of a lamb, He glued to the nose of a rat,
Adding the eyes of a pig, He said “Now look at that!”
Seeing the silhouette of an aardvark, God laughed with glee,
“That’s the funniest thing, I ever did see!”
Placing them all together on the chest of a bull,
He added the spice ‘Essence of Mule’.
Inserting the heart of a lion, the front now intact,
He joined it together, with a rhino in back.
The small critter grinned with a hyena smile.
God patted it’s head, and thought for a while.
He then sat back, and sighed from His heavens above
“I’ve created a face only a mother could love!”
The, with a glint in His eye, God picket up His treat,
And dipped him in pink icing to make him so sweet!

Dogs

Dogs can be trained but really don’t care
Turn your back they sit in your chair.
Been to obedience school know how to mind
Visitors come they seem to unwind.
Put them on a leash they can be led
Next time you look they’re on your bed.
Do everything wrong but some how they win.
Our hearts and homes we share with a grin.

Take a chance

You can’t find loyalty, they say,
I found it though, the other day;
You can’t find friendship, tried and true,
Well just the same, I found that too.

I took a chance, and on the spot
Got love and faith and an awful lot
Of happiness, so all in all
The chance I took was pretty small.

I got a single trusting heart
That gave devotion from the start.
Adopt a doggy and it’ll be true,
These things can be real for both of you.

Schutz dem Tier

Was sind das für üble Menschen,
die den Tieren Böses tun?
Können diese Schwerverbrecher
nachts im Schlafe friedlich ruh’n?

Quälen diese armen Wesen
ohne Grund, aus tiefem Hass.
Bilder ziehen durch die Presse,
da wird manches Antlitz blass.

Sie empfinden Leid und Schmerzen
gleichermaßen, so wie wir;
darum muss man sie auch schützen -
nicht nur auf 'nem Blatt Papier.

Diese Worte soll’n erreichen
viele Schlächter dieser Welt:
Lasst das Tier in Frieden leben
denn es ist uns gleichgestellt!

He ist your friend

He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, his leader.
He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.

Top ten reasons to adopt an older dog (2)

  1. Older dogs are housetrained. You won't have to go through the difficult stage(s) of teaching a puppy house manners and mopping/cleaning up after accidents.
  2. Older dogs are not teething puppies, and won't chew your shoes and furniture while growing up.
  3. Older dogs can focus well because they've mellowed. Therefore, they learn quickly.
  4. Older dogs have learned what "no" means. If they hadn't learned it, they wouldn't have gotten to be "older" dogs.
  5. Older dogs settle in easily, because they've learned what it takes to get along with others and become part of a pack.
  6. Older dogs are good at giving love, once they get into their new, loving home. They are grateful for the second chance they've been given.
  7. What You See Is What You Get: Unlike puppies, older dogs have grown into their shape and personality. Puppies can grow up to be quite different from what they seemed at first.
  8. Older dogs are instant companions -- ready for hiking, car trips, and other things you like to do.
  9. Older dogs leave you time for yourself, because they don't make the kinds of demands on your time and attention that puppies and young dogs do.
  10. Older dogs let you get a good night's sleep because they're accustomed to human schedules and don't generally need nighttime feedings, comforting, or bathroom breaks.

so entdeckst du deine Welt.

Why do we Love our Bullydogs so?

Why do we love our Bullydogs so?
It seems very strange to so many, you know.
They maze at the wrinkled up face that seems “smashed.”
They whiff doggie odors and gas that’s been passed.
If some folks were honest, they’d shout out: “Alas!
You’re telling me truly, for this you paid cash?!”
Why do we love our Bullydogs so?
Some call us weird and deranged “so-and-so’s.”
With stark frozen fear, they gaze at the teeth,
the massive broad shoulders and little fat feet.
They gasp at the sight of the jowls and then shriek:
“Someone please save me! Just throw him some meat!”
Why do we love our Bullydogs so?
They say we’re obsessive fanatics, you know.
An accurate statement, but “Foul!” I protest.
You don’t understand why a Bulldog’s the best!
It’s hard to explain; to that I’ll confess.
But sit down and listen, to what I profess.
Why do we love our Bullydogs so?
And why does our love continue to grow?
I can’t speak for all, but I’ll say what I know.
To me it is simple, and easy to show:
From the short stumpy tail to the wrinkled-up nose,
they’re sensitive children, just dressed in dog’s clothes.

In 2014 the European Court of Justice (ECJ) decided that normally no copyrights are violated if website operators use so-called framed links. This happens for example when YouTube videos on a website are included.

Herzensbrecher

Deine Augen - ein Gedicht!
Falschheit? Nein die kennst Du nicht.
Folgst mir treu auf allen Wegen,
bist für mich der größte Segen.

Dein Charakter - warm und gut,
ehrlich bist Du bis aufs Blut.
Dir kann ich mein Leid erzählen,
ohne Dich würd’ mir was fehlen.

Deine Nase kalt wie Eis,
Seelefarbe blütenweiß.
Gehst mit mir auch steile Wege,
unsre Freundschaft ich gern pflege.

Deine Ohren flauschig weich,
Liebe gibst Du hier und gleich.
Du, mein lieber Freund, mein frecher -
Seelenclown und Herzensbrecher.

Seelenliebe

Seelenliebe
ist ein Geschenk.
Sie ist unerklärlich,
absichtslos,
bedingungslos.

Seelenliebe
braucht keine Worte
oder Gedanken,
sie ist außerhalb
von Raum und Zeit.

Seelenliebe
ist Stille
ist Frieden
ist Heilung
ist unendliches Glück.

Care for a friend

Care for a friend
(Dedicated to all the homeless shelter dogs)

Help care for a friend
find a home, help him mend.
Has a heart of gold,
has to move - he’s told.
Find a place, a nice new home
where people care - he can roam.
His eyes are lonely, can’t you see,
just wants love, somewhere to be.
Hold no grudges, has a happy heart
looking for a family, a brand new start.
Care for your friend, any way you can
a helping hand, a ride in a van.
Just a warm wish, tossed his way,
may be all he needs to make his day.
