Wichtige Informationen / Important information:

This blog is not only a collection for all of you who, like me, love poems, texts and simply everything about dogs, it is also intended to give recognition to all authors and artists who with their work give us great pleasure, sometimes solace and who also want to open our eyes to the abuse and neglect of animals.

Copyright for all published poems, stories, quotes belongs to the respective author. Usually I don’t know the authors of the material and I would like to apologize to any authors who I don’t mention. I’m working to find the writers. If you do find your own work here, I would be grateful for an appropriate message. Then I’ll add a note (and/or a link) or will remove the text immediately. I look forward to hearing from you.

5 great tips to help you save money on your pooch

(1) Make your dog's shampoo last longer.
Most dog shampoos are actually intended to be diluted with water ... but the manufacturers count on you not reading the label! Next time it's bath time, pour a little shampoo into a plastic pitcher, add plenty of water, and use the diluted shampoo to lather your pup. You'll use way less (and save money) over time.

(2) Mix your own pet-safe cleanser.
Pet-safe cleaning products can get expensive. We use them, but we also like to make our own natural cleaner from time to time. We just combine baking soda and vinegar - it's perfect for cleaning many types of pet-related messes!

(3) Invest in pet insurance.
Insurance isn't right for every dog owner. But paying a small monthly premium now can save you money down the road if your pooch needs serious medical care. Here's another idea: if you frequently drive with your dog, check to see if your car insurance company offers coverage that will pay for their medical bills in the event of an accident.

(4) Buy in bulk.
And when we say bulk, we mean bulk. Most dogs rarely change their diet, so check to see if you can find their favorite food in very large (and cheap) quantities at your local Costco, or online. Just make sure to keep an eye on the expiration date.

(5) Do it yourself!
The internet is filled with ideas for easy, cheap, do-it-yourself treats and toys you can make for your pup, from dog-friendly birthday cake to chew toys made out of old shirts. This is a great way to save money on expensive store-bought items, while also doing something nice for your pooch!
