Wichtige Informationen / Important information:

This blog is not only a collection for all of you who, like me, love poems, texts and simply everything about dogs, it is also intended to give recognition to all authors and artists who with their work give us great pleasure, sometimes solace and who also want to open our eyes to the abuse and neglect of animals.

Copyright for all published poems, stories, quotes belongs to the respective author. Usually I don’t know the authors of the material and I would like to apologize to any authors who I don’t mention. I’m working to find the writers. If you do find your own work here, I would be grateful for an appropriate message. Then I’ll add a note (and/or a link) or will remove the text immediately. I look forward to hearing from you.

The Kitty Klause (I have this friend)

I have this friend. He's kinda strange you see.
He spends a lot of his time, up in the trees.
He doesn't make a barking sound. I guess it's more like a squeak.
One time he jumped on mom’s waterbed and made it spring a leak.

This guy is always licking his self with his leg up in the air.
There is no way possible his tongue isn’t full of hair.
He is a cross between a cactus and furry like a baby fox.
The weirdest thing about him is he poo poo's in a box!

The food they give him is delicious. It's better than mine any day.
Usually they feed him outside to keep me out of the way.
He has some really strange habits; there's one I don't understand the most.
He pulls out these ten little switchblade knives and sharpens them on a carpet covered post!

There's a sound he makes that drives me crazy; where it comes from really baffles me.
He sounds like my mom's car when she starts it, but I never have found his key.
Last night things got a bit crazy. My dad gave him something called nip.
He turned 14 cartwheels down the hallway and ended with a double back flip!!!

I just had to try some myself. It didn't do a thing for me!
But make my eyes red and watery and then I started to sneeze!
There's a secret I just have to tell you. While everyone's asleep, we cuddle at night.
I really shouldn't be telling you this, because dogs and cats are supposed to fight.

Mom said he is what's called a rescue. His family had to give him away.
Even though we don’t always get along, I'm glad mom brought him home that day.
I wish everyone was like my mom. A huge heart of gold has she.
If we would ALL think of others instead of ourselves, what a wonderful world this would be!
