The chicks are dead. Sunday I did the last photos. When I came home on Monday after work and looked, they were gone. Most likely, the crows have killed the chicks. (On Sunday afternoon, I had seen the crows in the vicinity of the tree. The crows had observed the nest and the adult pigeons. I had bad premonitions.) Until Tuesday
morning, the adult pigeons came back again and again to the nest and searched
for the chicks. I suspect they were not present when the chicks were killed, so they couldn't understand why the chicks no longer were found in the nest.
