Wichtige Informationen / Important information:

This blog is not only a collection for all of you who, like me, love poems, texts and simply everything about dogs, it is also intended to give recognition to all authors and artists who with their work give us great pleasure, sometimes solace and who also want to open our eyes to the abuse and neglect of animals.

The ride

I heard five of my favorite words today, my emotions I cannot hide.
I always get really excited, when mom says, “Let's go for a ride!”
She opens the door, puts on my leash, and yells c'mon boy jump up.
Got the whole backseat to myself. I love this life of a spoiled pup!

Mom gets in and cranks up her van. It's time for me to explore.
Jackpot! Only one minute in and I find beef jerky on the floor!!
Mom turns around and says, "What’s in your mouth?" You give that to me!
There's no way I am giving this up. It's delicious as can be!

I swallow just as fast as I can, as we are heading down the road.
I gotta get over to the window and go into search mode!
I like to look for other dogs that are riding with their owners too.
I think I just saw a Bassett Hound in a beat up Subaru!

Yes! Another stoplight. I like these the best.
I am gonna bark at that guy on his Harley in the black and orange biker vest!
I wonder where we are going? Anywhere is ok with me.
I just like to be King of the backseat and see what I can see!

I just love my owner. She treats me oh so well.
Brings me out to see new things and take in all the smells!
Something's up, moms upset. Looks like a wreck up ahead.
Looks like a Lexus got T- boned y an old Ford truck that’s red.

Mom said it looks pretty bad. I will say a prayer that they are ok.
Then a thought came into mind in my mom's backseat that day.
We never know what’s up ahead in this trip we have called life.
One minute things are going our way, and then there is trouble, heartache and strife.

Tell your loved ones you love them today, before the opportunity is past.
This ride called life is over real quick, only God knows which day is our last!
