When a
dearest beloved pet
Passes away
Our
thoughts are filled with them
Each and
every day.
Hardly a
single moment
Passes by
That our
hearts aren't heavy
And we want
to cry.
Everywhere
we look
A reminder
is there
Causing
some old memory
To quickly
stir.
At night
when we close our eyes
And yearn
for blessed sleep
We awaken
with churning thoughts
Of old
memories once buried deep.
We never
get over
The loss of
our beloved pets
They'll
always be with us
Until our
own very end.
No, we
never get over it
It would be
futile to even try
But the
hurt begins to lessen
As time
passes following our goodbye.
Time
lessens and heals our pain
While our
life continues on
Through
knowing our dear beloved pet
Is in a
safe and peaceful home
Where no
suffering exists.
